Do you think the BCS will have a bigger push against it in the senate regarding anti trust issues if this scenario plays out?
Imagine the controversy if two undefeated teams TCU and Boise State have wins over teams who are in BCS bowls and you have a team like Texas who has not played anybody except a depleted Oklahoma State team in the finals. I will be the first to admit Texas is a good team but the non conference schedule they CHOSE is just unacceptable.
Also adding to the controversy what if Boise State gets snubbed from all BCS bowls in this scenario. Add to this Boise State, Oregon, Clemson and TCU win their bowls to sweeten the pot.
All of the above scenario only requires 1 upset for it to happen and is generally accepted as the most likely chain of events excluding the 1 aforementioned upset.
P.S. If anybody brings up Boise State’s SOS please read http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/ne… & http://collegefootball.rivals.com/conten… Note how Boise State has no control over what conference they play in or who they play in non-conference play UNLIKE Texas!

“humanist” I asked if a greater push would be made I didn’t ask how big of a push HAS been made.

I think that TCU and Boise State would get bids. Too much pressure, and they are media darlings this year.
Your links didn’t work so I can’t tell how Boise St. has no control over what conference it plays in or it’s non-conference schedule, which I find very odd.
A push in the Senate regarding anti-trust issues? Where’d you get the idea there’s a push in the Senate regarding anti-trust issue? There’s nothing going on in the Senate except for one senator who held an unofficial open hearing that was no more than grandstanding for his constituents. The government could NEVER get an anti-trust law against the BCS to hold up.
Otherwise, I’m not getting involved in another dead horse beating about how TCU and Boise St. with their two and three star players and almost nobody in the NFL are getting screwed.
If Oregon wins out they have nothing to complain about because they lost to a joke of a program like Boise State. You can’t lose games against glorified high school teams and expect to be ranked #1 or #2 in the final BCS rankings. That’s an Oregon problem not a BCS problem.
If Boise State or TCU win out and go undefeated it is meaningless because they play chump schedules in chump conferences. That’s just the breaks. Pack up your bags and go on the road and beat people the way Miami and Florida State did in the 80s. Follow the model or go away.
If Clemson wins out it’s too bad for them because any team that doesn’t run the table in the pathetic ACC has no business playing for anything. Losing to Maryland should be an automatic demotion to the FCS. No excuses.
The bottom line is simply this: The BCS was not designed to placate ridiculous college football teams like BSU and TCU. It exists to make money for the schools in the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, ACC, Big East, and Pac 10. If those other schools want to form their own deal they simply need to stop signing the BCS contract. Nothing prevents the WAC, MWC, C-USA, etc from discontinuing their participation in the BCS, forming their own deal, playing a 10 game regular season, and putting on a playoff that nobody will watch and that wouldn’t draw flies.
I say that we give these clowns what they want: do away with the BCS. That way conferences could go back to the pre-BCS method. In that model BSU, TCU, Utah, and other C list programs would rarely play in a significant bowl because they don’t draw huge national tv audiences.
