A sporting event isn’t exactly where most girls dream of becoming engaged. Why did you feel it necessary to throw in the part about *********** marriage? What does that have to do with your actual question?

Really? That’s ***********? I had not idea until you pointed it out. Puh-leez….I think it was awesome how he did it and I think if someone wants to do that again, it will be equally as great.

Wow, congratulations, you know the definition of ***********. I hope you also understand that the race of the individuals getting married has nothing to do with when or where he popped the question. I hope you also understand that it is perfectly okay for *********** couples to be married, to do it just as publicly as anyone else and to be just as happy. (For that matter, I really think ********** couples should have those rights as well, but that wasn’t your question.)

So, I guess I’m confused by your question. You start with asking if marriage proposals should happen at sporting events. Sure, why not? Particularly for sports fans, it’s a great way to pop the question in a place that has a lot of meaning for the couple. But then you go on to talk about Ian Johnson’s *********** marriage. Are you really asking about *********** marriage or sporting events? Either way, I think people should just be glad that other people are happy instead of trying to pick apart their relationships. Who cares where the proposal happened or what color the couple is as long as they are happy? Geez!

Why should race be a factor? And as to where and when to propose that is up to the guy. If he really knows his gal then he will do what she will think is romantic. This was a big and shared event for those two. They both went to the same University and she was with him at all of the games. It was a good way for both of them. And it showed the world that we are not a ****** country. They got married this weekend and it was fun for the whole City.

when anything is shown on tv it will attract attention, sometimes from the wrong ppl from ****** to murdurers to terrorists. this proposal was romantic and since they chose each other and they’re happy as well as their families nobody should interfere or object. they can have an opinion but it’s a good thing they ignored threats.
racists are entitled to their beliefs esp since many people are into stereotyping others based on race, looks , religion etc.
but they should act more civil and stop harrassing others .
i’m happy for the couple and i hope everyone find their soulmates and live happily ever after just like fairytales.
i think that the broadcast of the proposal gave faith to those who lost faith in true love.

I am surprised that in 2007 in the United States there are still people who get angry over an *********** union. Do people not have enough to do or worry about in their own lives????

LOVE is grand! I could not deprive any couple of their happiness! A national TV proposal is romantic. There aren’t many girls who can say that their proposal was televised. I think it’s sweet.
